Tracy VanDeBoom

Dear families of Room 206,
Welcome and thank you for choosing Lake Harriet United Methodist Preschool as we celebrate more than 70 years of educating young learners! My name is Tracy VanDeBoom and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year. This is my sixth year teaching at Lake Harriet United Methodist Preschool. What a gift it is to teach children some of the skills they will have for life.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and philosophy from Coe College and spent three years abroad teaching English in Thailand and Japan. I then obtained my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota in 2007. My family lives across from Lake Nokomis and we spend time at the beach, kayaking, baking, and reading.

I’m excited to meet each of you at our home visit! The visit will last about 20 minutes and is a time for your child and I to get to know and feel comfortable with each other. Your child may want to show me their favorite toy(s) or book(s). I will also be explaining a few school policies, providing you with our classroom newsletter, and answering any questions you or your child may have. I’ll take few pictures—one of your child to use in the classroom and one of your family to display.

Please don’t hesitate to communicate with me as we progress through the year together. I can be reached via BrightWheel message or [email protected].
We are going to have such a wonderful year playing, learning, and growing together!

Warmly,
Tracy VanDeBoom
