Clara Johnson

Greetings Preschool Families,

My name is Clara Johnson and I am honored to continue to be part of the Lake Harriet Preschool team as your STEM Friday teacher as well as working in other classrooms as needed, such as the muscle room and preschool plus classrooms.

I was born and raised in Missoula, Montana where I developed a deep love for the outdoors, hiking, exploring, and learning in nature. I started my college career at the University of Montana in Missoula, majoring in Education, but in 2009 I transferred to St. Catherine University in St Paul and earned my Education degree in 2011. I am a licensed K-6 teacher with a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education, an early childhood emphasis and a STEM certification. I previously taught Kindergarten in Southern MN and have filled many roles at Lake Harriet Preschool since 2019 including: parent of a preschooler, substitute teacher, preschool plus teacher, STEM teacher, and this will be my first year sharing the role of Muscle Room teacher once a week. I live in South Minneapolis with my husband, Ryan, who is a 2nd grade teacher, our daughter, Carol, who is in 4th grade, our dog, Hank and our new puppy, June! In my free time I love hiking with my family, playing board games, traveling, and adventuring with family and friends!

I am so excited to get to know all the families at Lake Harriet Preschool by exploring, learning, and having fun with the kiddos in the STEM Friday program as well as in other classrooms! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns through Brightwheel or email me at [email protected].
